Hi Janice, Chili and Norman!
Wonderful to see a WBBR family on the Blogs! I can't agree more with you! We are very lucky to be able to bring LA boxers to our families here in BC and all over Canada and the Northern states!

I was at the Ventura County animal shelter last week and came across a beautiful male boxer curled up in a tiny ball not responding to our voices. I asked the attendent about him and he said that his owner had just dropped him off because he was "too Hyper" My heat is breaking. Is anyone out there to rescue this great boy?
A dog named KING is in kennel 014.
This neutered male, fawn Boxer has been available for adoption since Mar 10, 2007.
This dog requires a home check before adoption. ID# A374853 . He is at the Camarillo Airport Shelter.

I think King got adopted!! Through a strange (and at the time horrible) set of circumstances our boxer (also named King, also a neutered male) ended up in the kennel right next to the King mentioned in the previous comment, the kennel for King was empty, and since his stats were almost the same as ours we asked the attendants about it, he had apparently just been adopted the night before. Our King was let out of our yard and hit by a car while we were at work. We chased him and chased him after we got home and realized he had gotten loose. Fortunately we knew where to start looking for him guessing he would take the route we regularly take on our walks, and we were right, but we weren't in time to keep him from getting hit. Fortunately he was just barely clipped but it scared him enough that he took off running and we weren't able to catch him. He ended up in some nice persons yard who fed him, gave him water, and brought him to the shelter. We were up all night putting up signs for him and went to the shelter the second they opened. Fortunately he was there (in kennel 13!). Our poor baby was pretty beat up and just slept on our couch for almost 2 days straight. The vet made sure nothing was broken, so we just let him rest, and by the fourth day he was up and around and wagging his tail! Now one week later you'd never know anything happened to him! King is our baby! He sleeps with us, sits on our laps on the couch (despite being 65lbs) and follows us everywhere. He adores our 6 month old baby, so we were so glad to have him back. When we thought he was lost our hearts were just shattered. I have never cried so hard in my life.
Thank you Boxer rescue for giving us our baby dog! We are so blessed! And thank you to whoever adopted the other King at the Camarillo shelter!! Please treat him well and give him lots of love. You can't go wrong with a boxer that is treated well and loved like a member of the family!

I have been heartbroken since yesterday morning when we arrived home from the Dr and our boxer Gracie was gone. It was like she vanished. I have contacted every shelter, rescue in San Diego, now I'm asking you. She's 5yrs, brn/white, wh/blk mask, 50 lbs small for a boxer, slightly deformed lower jaw, more so than a normal boxer, she's the love of my life. My bed partner is missing, it's like loosing a child or husband. She is also chipped. Please call 760-480-2669
