Five years ago, we fostered a Boxer with a broken leg. He was a very sweet dog and let us care for him patiently. We ended up adopting him and he is doing great. He still has his scars from the injury but is a big strong male, but secretly is a big mama's boy. We love him and thank you for rescuing him.

We have adopted four dogs from Boxer Rescue and we couldn't be happier with our little family.

We seem to have gotten one from each walk of life, an old man (Gus) who they told us was 12 but acts like a puppy still and loves to give us hugs every night when we get home from work. He doesn't care that he only has 4 teeth left in his mouth, one of his favorite things to do is play tug of war. (Yes we let him win!)

We have a long timer (Rudy) that was at the rescue for 2 1/2 years because he was a pit mix and people were afraid of him. He has the sweetest temperament ever. He is a gentle loving soul and we cannot imagine our lives without him. He sleeps at the foot of my bed every night curled up by my feet.

We have a white boxer (Casper) who is about 2 years old and we are all convinced that he actually understands what we are saying, we don't tell the rest of them, but he's the smartest one out of the bunch! He makes little noises that remind us of the Wookies from Star Wars.

Then there's our 100lb Brindle boy (Brutal Noodle), he thinks he is a lap dog and I've never met a dog with such a personality, he's got so many different facial expressions and each and every one will crack you up. It doesn't help that his big lips practically hang to the floor, but he's not concerned with his looks, he knows he's a magnificent beast!

I will never again in my life consider owning anything but a rescued pet. They are so thankful and eager to please and bring joy to us each and every day.

Thank you Boxer Rescue for bringing our wonderful family together!

We are so thankful to Boxer Rescue. We rescued our girl, Little Betty, in November last year. Our little girl wanted a dog so badly and I as a little girl had a boxer named Missy who meant the world to me and left me with the true love of the Boxer breed so of course I wanted my daughter to know just how great boxers are for pets and it has made a lasting impression on her to have a boxer as a first pet. Little Betty came to us with an injured ear and on the thinner side. She has blossomed into the sweetest, prettiest brindle girl. Everywhere we take her we stopped by others commenting on how beautiful and well mannered dog she is. She loves to go on our nightly walks around the lake in our community and she loves more to come back home and crawl up next to us on the couch. She is so well mannered that my daughter plays dress up with her - we'll have to share pictures of our Little Betty in cape and all. She gets so excited the moment we walk in the door each evening but I think we are more excited to see her.

Thank you BRLA for adding a truimph of love into our lives!

Our Halo is a 4 year old white female boxer. Everyday I can't imagine why someone would have relinquished her. She is so smart and very well-mannered. She can sit, shake, and go down. She doesn't jump on the couch or the bed until we invite her and she knows to look for the ball when we say, "where's the ball?". She loves to go under our bed, she collects all her favorite toys and things down there--it's her own private spot.

She is super sweet and loving. Although she dislikes other dogs she loves to meet new people and give them kisses. She gets so excited when our friends come over. Our friends' children climb on her, blow in her ear, stick their hands in her mouth and she never snaps or growls at them.

She had separation anxiety and we have worked so hard to help her through it and now she is finally able to stay at home by herself. It would break my heart to think about her anxiety and why she thought we had abandoned her. Through her anxiety she destroyed a lot of our stuff. She even chewed a pair of my favorite shoes. But through it I learned how unimportant all of those things were. She grabbed and chewed my shoes because it reminded her of me. I don't care about the stuff it's all replaceable. I'm happy that she now understands we'll be right back--that is priceless.

Because she is such a good girl every Friday she comes to work with me and she brightens up the place. She is the perfect jogging partner, she always outruns us! We take to her to all our soccer games, she gets so excited because the field is by the beach and we get to explore on the rocky bay and run on the sand.

I call her my little "Show-Stopper" because people always stop and comment on how good-looking she is. I love coming home everyday and watch her do her greeting dance. She loves to cuddle next to us while we read and watch movies. Every time we give her some loving she always asks for more by rubbing her paw on us--she can never get enough! She is our little angel truly sent to us from up above. I am so grateful to BRLA for bringing us together! Thank you for all the work you do!

I apologize for my long blog, I just have so much to say about our baby Halo and how much joy he has brought to our lives.

Thank you,

Sharon

Norman came all the way from LA to Vancouver Island BC to be with our family. We all love him so much. He is the most gorgeous little boxer. We also have another boxer named Chili and she is learning to love him-LOL. We have had him since June/06 and she played with him for the first time in February. He was so excited-we all were. Norman's favorite place is our new local dog park. He loves to find a friend who will wrestle and run with him. Normie is by far the most crazy boxer I have ever had. He is constantly getting into mischief and making us laugh. He just oozes personality. He loves to go to school every day to pick up "his girls" and jumps up on the picnic table to patiently wait for the bell to ring. I would just like to say Thankyou again for helping bring Norman to us.

We adopted a sweet little 4 month old brindle baby from the West Valley Shelter 4 years ago. She was in a tiny cage in the back of the shelter in the medical room and had a broken leg. They were going to euthanize her the next day cause in the words of the shelter staff.."it's hard enough to place a healthy dog, and almost impossible to place a broken one". Well, we just couldn't leave that little wiggle butt in that jail, so we bailed her out with the idea of bringing her into Boxer Rescue. We already had 3 dogs at home, 3 dalmatians, and really couldn't fit another. That idea lasted about 24 hours. Once we got her home, she wiggled and wormed her way into our hearts and the very next day, we knew there was just no way we could ever even think of giving her up. And that's the story of MUSH. Four years later she is the love of my life and I can't imagine a day without her. Our 3 dalmatians have since dwindled to just one, having lost the other two to old age. The one left is a very alpha brat, and does not get along with any other dogs....EXCEPT MUSH. They are joined at the hip and Mush does everything Koby says. So that's where our perfect family stands right now and we keep waiting for the day when we feel it's the perfect time to go to Boxer Rescue and bring in another family member. We will ALWAYS have a Boxer in our lives. (even though Mush has given us the opportunity to shop for a new couch and several mattresses, not to mention the 8th doggie bed)......

Well, Gracie is finally home...she came home last night and was happy to see us and us happy to she her. It wasn't the same without her. She brought so much love and action to our family. Boxer's are a different breed. I would never have any other kind of dog...they are not dogs, they are so human like. It's just my husband and myself, one more dog and a cat. We now live for our animals. All of these websites are so helpful when you are in an emergency situation of finding a lost pet. I have met so many nice people over these last 10 days of my search for her. All I did was look...for 10 days straight...every waking minute...and I found her, so never never give up on finding a lost pet.

We got our boxer a year and 2 months ago (April 21, 2006) from a shelter. His facial expression and cute face is what won us over. Now, I see why boxer lovers love their boxers so much. He has all the typical characteristics and personalities I read about on boxers and much more. He's such a wonderful boy, his name is Benjamin. I don't know how he got there, at the shelter, but I am surprised the person who lost him didn't look for him, or if he was abandoned, how someone could do something like this to him. He's such a sweetie. He has separation anxiety, and we continue to work with him on this, but he's getting better. He too has destroyed a lot of our stuff, which has helped me clean up a lot of stuff I didn't know what to do with, thanks Benjamin. He's the love of our lives. But now, I don't know what I'd do without him. He's saved my life.

I got Sancho thru a close friend of mine, he had bought him for his birthday but did not have any time for him. I have 3 kids that love dogs, so when I brought Sancho home they loved him,he is an outside dog, his previous owner trained him that way. the first week he did do a little chewing here and there but he is so smart, we dont need to tell him NO twice, I just love to see him Prance when he see me!!. I would not change him for a thing!!

Almost 4 years ago I rescued my Phoebe from BRLA. I lost her this week-end to cancer. Needless to say my heart is broken. I will miss her terribly as she was the greatest companion. She was sweet, loving, well mannered and very spoiled. She went nearly everywhere with me.
Once my heart is mended and the time is right I will return to BRLA to find a new companion. I hope I was as lucky as I was with Phoebe.
